Blue Bloods
So, it’s 2021 outside, and Blue Bloods First Episode of 2020 Season 10 looks intense. Have you watched it yet?
I just finished watching the first episode of Blue Bloods, and it looks interesting and quite star-studded at that—that is, if you consider Donnie Wahlberg a star. But to be honest, anything with Bridget Moynahan.
The opening song is called “Reagan’s Theme,” after the Reagan family of police officers characters—with Tom Selleck’s character, Francis “Frank” Reagan, as the father. As for the composer, nothing sure yet as of this moment, but IMDb credits Rob Simonsen for four episodes. However, the series has not yet been credited to his official site. So, either it’s an outdated site, or it’s not really him. We’ll get this straight once more information surfaces.
Below is the said theme and opening sequence. “Reagan’s Theme” by Rob Simonsen.
Seriously, there is an ongoing, unspoken theme common among police dramas. I can’t quite describe it, but they (composers) can make it sound police-like without sounding like the next police series’ theme.
The series follows the Reagans, a family with a history of law enforcement work. Frank Reagan is the Police Commissioner. Frank’s oldest son Danny is an NYPD detective, his youngest son Jamie is an NYPD sergeant, and his daughter Erin works as an assistant district attorney.
Frank’s second son Joe (though the series mistakenly refers to him as the oldest in more recent episodes) was murdered by a crooked cop in the line of duty in events that pre-date the series when he was involved with an FBI investigation of a group of corrupt NYPD cops known as the Blue Templar Frank’s father Henry is a former NYPD beat cop who rose through the ranks to become Police Commissioner.
