The Unit

2006–2009

A captivating and extraordinary show, it began to lose its magic when… (no spoilers here). The theme songs for The Unit are more Robert Duncan masterpieces. The first, used in seasons one and two, is called “Fired Up,” an adaptation of a Marine Corps cadence with the same name.

The lyrics they chant are: “fired up,” “feels good,” “sounds good,” “forty-seven,” “here we go,” and “on the road.” They’re seasoned with the sun, as the lyrics suggest.

Starting with season three, the theme changed to something equally cool but not as exceptional as the first one (this is my personal opinion). Mr. Duncan composed it too, and it’s called “Walk the Fire.”

Here’s one of the versions of the opening sequence featuring “Walk the Fire.”

Below are the lyrics to the The Unit theme song, divided into seasons one and two, and season three.

Lyrics (season 1,2)

Fired up, Fired up.

Fired up, Fired up

Plenty Sun, Plenty Sun

Fired up, Fired up.

Here we go, Here we go.

On the Road, On the Road.

Plenty Sun, Plenty Sun

Fired up, Fired up.

Fired up, Fired up.

Fired up, Fired up

Plenty Sun, Plenty Sun

Fired up, Fired up.

(Fired Up by Robert Duncan)

Lyrics (season 3)

Give me your secrets

Bring me a sign

Give me a reason

To walk the fire

See another dawn

Through your daughter’s eyes

You give me a reason

To walk the fire

Give me your secrets

Bring me a sign

Give me a reason

To walk the fire

See another dawn

Through your daughter’s eyes

You give me a reason

To walk the fire.
